Description

White cotton muslin doll cloak. The cloak is circular and decorated at the hem and shoulder with a strip of gauze decorated with white French knots. Above the shoulder decoration and below the hem decoration, the cloak has a scalloped crochet design, acting as a trim on the hem and an insert at the shoulder. The cloak secures at the neck with green silk ribbon.

Context

Owned by Julia Ann Smith in Thompson Ridge or Bullville, New York. While the doll was not made or used in Vermont, it was used to represent Vermont at a Temple University doll show held during the 1920s.
