Description

Pieced quilt made of plain white and red floral-printed calico cotton. The blocks alternate between a plain white block, and white blocks with triangular corners in the printed fabric. The plain blocks are quilting in straight, vertical lines, and the corner-pieced blocks are quilted in a 5-pointed star pattern. There are 8 rows of 5 blocks, and each block is about 8-3/4" x 8-3/4". The edges of the quilt are bordered in the same printed fabric as the block corners. The un-pieced blocks are inscribed with religious sayings and Bible verses. The reverse is stamped in the lower right corner, "Brandon/Soldiers Aid Society" and signed "Made by Mrs. L B. Fairbanks/of Brandon, Vermont.
