One of a matching pair of flintlock pistols with the maker's mark, "W. KETLAND & Co." on the lock plate. The body of the gun is formed from wood, with a curved handle and rounded butt capped with brass. It has a brass barrel and furniture, a steel lock, and a wooden rammer. There are various decorative engravings ont he barrel and trigger guard, including a three-petaled flower and vines. It has additional, small maker's marks, including "London", "ELG", "GR", and a crown above two crossed swords.Context
