Description

Two-piece, yellow silk dress consisting of a bodice and skirt. The bodice opens at the center front and secures with laces. It has curved, 3/4-length sleeves. The cuffs, shoulders, and collar are decorated with daisy-patterned and palm-leaf-patterned laced. The skirt is made from the same silk and uses the same palm-leaf-patterned lace as an overskirt covering the back. The front hem is accented with pleats of the yellows silk and the back, which falls into a circular train, is finished with piping.

Worn by Lizzie Maria Weeks at her marriage to Charles Lincoln Goss in Brandon, Vermont, Sep. 27, 1882.
