A small canvas knapsack with a shoulder strap, but with slips and other buckles that would allow it to be attached to a large backpack or perhaps a belt. The knapsack has a flap with buckles and a plastic nameplate. A card inside reads, "Lawrence K. Rossi, MR#1, Barre, Vermont.Context
This knapsack was among the WWII/Korean War equipment used by Lawrence Rossi (1918-2025) of Barre during military service. He spent three years in the Pacific Theater during WWII, serving as a 1st Lieutenant with the Army's 172nd Infantry. After he was discharged in 1946 he continued to serve in the Vermont National Guard and was reactivated to serve in the Korean War. He retired as a Major from the Vermont National Guard in 1963.Acquisition
