Painted wood toy cannon. The cannon is black with a hole drilled through the center. One end of the hole is plugged with a red dowel with a peg at the top. The cannon is attached to a red and yellow base so that it swivels. There are also two yellow disks and a red peg with the toy, whose uses are unclear. The bottom of the base is signed "J. P. D" in a child's handwriting.Context
Made by Fritzel Toys in Randolph, Vermont. This one was given to John P. Dumville by the manufacturer after a tour of the factory with his Boy Scout troop.Acquisition
