Six-chambered, top break, double-action revolver. The pistol is all steel with a wooden grip. The side of the barrel is marked, "[illeg] MARLIN NEW HAVEN CT U.S.A, JULY 1878". The top of the barrel is marked, "1912 STANDARD 1878". The gun hinges in half, with the barrel opening forward and cylinder and stock hinging backward from a point at the upper front above the cylinder. The trigger is built into the protrusion on the bottom, releasing with backward pressure similar to a standard trigger.Context
