Green molded glass medicine bottle. The face is entirely covered with a white, though stained, paper label with the inscription, "DR. B. J. KENDALL'S/BLACKBERRY BALSAM/COMPOUND/ALCOHOL 41 per cent. OPIUM, 2 grains to fluid ounce./A Remedy for the treatment of DIARRHOEA, CHOLERA/MORBUS, and all Diseases for which an Astringent is needed./DIRECTIONS:- SHAKE WELL. - Adults, 1 teaspoonful. - Children 8/to 10 years old, 1-2 teasponnful, [sic] - 4 years, 15 drops, - 2 years, 8 drops,/younger children in proportion to age. Always taken in water. See Circular./PREPARED BY/KIMBALL BROS. & CO. INC., ENOSBURG FALLS, VT." The lip of the bottle has three protrusions for holding on a cap.
