Cylindrical wooden treenail. It is slightly flared at one end. The other end has the written inscription, "ASH PIN TAKEN FROM HEINEBERG BRIDGE BUILT ABOUT 75 YEARS AGO".

Context

Used in the construction of the Heineburg Bridge in Burlington, Vermont. It was recovered after the bridge was demolished in 1937 due to damage taken in the 1927 flood.
