Wool nurse's cape. The cape has black wool outer and red lining with a short, straight collar and brass hook and eye closure at the neck. The cape is embroidered "M.F.H." in gold thread on the collar proper left of the opening and has the monogrammed letters "IRC" in gold woven script stitched inside the lining below the interior buttonhole.
The cape was worn by Irena Lenore Coleman upon her graduation from Mary Fletcher Hospital's Nursing School.Context
