Description

Green-and-white transfer-printed plate decorated with scenes from the history of Barre, Vermont. Each scene is labeled (clockwise from top): First Framed House - 1800 Goldsbury Home; Granite Quarries; "Youth Triumphant" - 1924 Solders and Sailors Memorial; Robert Burns Monument - 1899; Town Common - 1850 Stage Routes Going East and South; Naming of Barre 1793; First Church Organized in Barre - Universalist - 1796; First Boy Scot Troop in America - Barre - VT. 1909. The center has an aerial street map of the area surrounding Barre with the words, "1780 HERITAGE FESTIVAL, INC. 1970 BARRE, VERMONT" in a circle around the map. The reverse is printed with a four-paragraph history of Barre.
