Description

Large wooden mortar (a) and pestle (b). The mortar has been formed into a tall cup that narrows into a base that flares out. It is cracked in several pleases. The rim is warped. The bottom half of the pestle wide, narrowing into a thinner handle.

Context

Owned by Jonas Galusha, the sixth and eighth Governor of Vermont.
