Description

Khaki haversack with "U.S." stenciled onto the front flap. The bag closes with a flap that reaches from the top back to the bottom front, and secures with a buckle. There are two metal rings at the top back, to which a long leather strap attaches with hooks.

Context

Used by R. G. Rich of Company F, 1st Vermont Volunteers during the Spanish-American War. Given to Phil S. Howes of the same company.
