Description

Large, ornate silver pitcher chased and engraved all over with oak leaves and acorns. The pouring spout is edged with a branch, and the high handle is in the shape of a vine-covered branch. The center front is engraved, "From the Ladies of Carlisle Pa. A Tribute of Gratitude to Brig Genl W.F. Smith for his noble defense of their homes on the night of the 1st of July, 1863."
