Description

Tool for making a variety of beaded edges in wood. The tool is made of brass, and the handle is made of polished wood. The circular blade has many indentations and turns when the thumbscrew is released. The fence on the bottom of the tool acts as a guide. The tool bears a paper label reading, "Windsor Hand Bead/Pat. March 10, 1885/Pat. for imp. allowed May 6, 1885/Pool, Williams & Co., Windsor, Vt.".

Use

Used to carve molded beads into wood. The craftsman would hold the two side handles and pull the tool toward himself.
