Description

Orange-painted metal powder flask. The flask is pear shaped with a short-necked opening on the narrow end. The opening is sealed with a metal topped cork. There is a circular label that reads, "Dead Shot Rifle H. Rowell & Co. West Acton, Ms." The bottom is marked, "S8 17 7".

Owned by Lieutenant Colonel Roswell Farnham of Bradford, Vermont, during the Civil War.
