It has the inscription, "CASHIER OF THE BANK OF POULTNEY, POULTNEY VERMONT, PAY THE REARER TEN CENTS, in Current Bank Bills on Presentation of this CHECK with others of like Issue to the Amount of ONE DOLLAR or upwards. GRANVILLED, Sept. 8th, 1862." It is signed, "J. S. Warren".
