Description

Scrip for 10 cents from The Hydeville company. The ground is printed in horizontal red stripes with a large 10 within concentric circles at the center. The words, "CAPITAL $100,000. ALL PAID IN." are oriented vertically on the left edge beside a picture of woman holding a bushel of wheat on her head. It has the inscription, "No. INCORPORATED 1849. / THE HYDEVILLE COMPANY, HYDEVILLE, VT / October 1st, 1862 Will pay the Bearer of this Check TWENTY FIVE CENTS in currency when presented in sums of even Dollars. [Pitt W. Hyde] Treas. [A. W. Hyde] Pres."
