Private bank note for 1 dollar and 75 cents from Farmers Bank. It is printed with the vertically oriented word "VERMONT" on the left side, and "ONE dol. 75 Cts." on the right side. There is an illustration of retail boxes surrounding a shield with a draped banner that reads "BY MANUFACTURES WE THRIVE" at the top center. The front bears the inscription, "Cashier of the FARMERS BANK. Troy N. York. For value received pay [W.Wales] or bearer ONE Dollar 75 Cts. on demand for acct. of the President & Directors of the VERMONT GLASS FACTORY. No. [1648] H[e] Salisbury [Jany. 1] 181[4] [Ep: Jones] CLERK [Samuel Swift] Prest."
