Male figure made of papier- mâché over a wire frame wearing an embroidered pink silk tunic over a blue wool long-sleeved garment and leggings. Over the tunic he is wearing a brown wool cloak lined with white silk. He has brown, pointed boots and is holding a long staff. The figure is attached to a round plywood base.
The figure is accompanied by a plywood case consisting of a base and cover that attached with metal clamps. There is a paper label that reads, "1066 ANGLO-SAXON MAN / UNDER TUNIC, TOP TUNIC LONG CLOAK, BRAIES (TROUSERS) BOUND WITH RIBBONS. EMBROIDERED AND BRIGHTLY COLORED CLOTHES. MOSTLY CLEAN SHAVEN."Use
