Yellow satin-woven ribbon printed in red with the inscription, "39th ENCAMPMENT DEPARTMENT OF VERMONT U. S. W. V. and the 21st CONVENTION of the DEPARTMENT AUXILIARY / WHITE RIBER JUNCTION VERMONT May 20-21, 1951". The top of the ribbon is attached to a rectangular gold frame pin.

Context

Worn by Edward H. Prouty to the 1951 state-wide encampment of the United Spanish War Veterans, a fraternal organization for veterans of the Spanish-American War, in White River Junction, Vermont. At the time of his death, Prouty was the last living officer of the Spanish-American War in Vermont.
