Description

Female figure made of papier-mâché over a wire frame wearing a purple dress and purple bonnet. It has red wool hair under a "drawn" bonnet of purple silk that encircles the face and is tied under the chin with a light blue ribbon. The bonnet is trimmed with flowers and bows at the sides, and a bavolet at the back. The figure holds a small frilly lace parasol lined in light blue silk. The dress is purple moiré with a long bodice ending in front center. The skirt has five flounces edged with narrow lace. An ribbon bow with long streamers decorates the front of the dress. Sloping shoulders with long sleeves end in four rows of gathered lace. She wears gold bracelets and holds a bouquet of flowers. The figure stands on a plywood base with a label on the bottom that states the artist's name and date.
