Female figure made of papier-mâché over a wire frame wearing a blue and yellow silk dress. The figure's blonde wool hair is a massive array of curls on top of her head, cascading in long ringlets down the back. She is wearing earrings. The dress consists of a bodice and skirt. The bodice reached below the hips and has a yellow front, sleeves, and back, with blue sides. The cuffs and collar are trimmed in black-and-white checked pleats. There are 7 glass beads simulating buttons. The skirt is blue in the front and yellow in the back with two tiers of pleats at the hem: checked and blue.
The figure is accompanied by a plywood case consisting of a base and cover that attached with metal clamps. There is a paper label that reads, "1876 VICTORIAN DAY DRSS / LONG TIGHT-FITTING BODICE, BUSTLE AND TRAIN, TWO OR MORE FABRICS OF DIFFERENT COLOR IN DRESS, ORNATE HAIR".Use
