Description

Tin spoon with rat tail handle. The back of the handle is inscribed with the label, "T. B. Walter/Co. E Vt. Vol." The mark, "Pat Oct 27 & Sept 2[illeg] 58" is stamped on the reverse. The spoon had been repaired where handle meets bowl.

Context

Owned by True Blake Walter during the Civil War. Walter served as a musician in Company E, 15th Regiment Vermont.
