Description

Blue and white transfer-printed soup plate. The center of the plate has a design of flowers, pillars, and scrollwork in front of a scenic background containing a building and a mountain. The border is separated into cartouches that show flowers and scrollwork. The back is marked, "ADELAIDE'S BOWER / Stone China".

Context

Said to have been brought to Chelsea, Vermont, from Boston, Massachusetts, on a sled.
