Description

Knitted Red Cross afghan. The afghan consists of multicolored square blocks, each measuring 4.25" in length and 3" in width. The blocks have been knitted in garter stitch and are then 'whip stitched' together with an avocado green yarn. The afghan is made with wool yarn, and the multi-colored blocks have been randomly put together, with the exception of the deep red pieces in the vertical and horizontal center forming a central 'Red Cross.' The colors used in the afghan include several shades of green, peach, burgundy, gold, pink, and several types of variegated yarn. Some blocks have been pieced together using multiple colors, resulting in unique patterns. The outside edge of the afghan is bordered with a simple crocheted scallop, which uses the same green yarn used to sew the blocks together.
