Description

Presentation sword and scabbard. The sword has a molded brass grip, guard, and pommel, decorated with scrollwork, a man in a toga, an eagles head, and a large red gem. The uppermost brass mount on the scabbard is engraved, "Presented to Capt. M. H. Twitchell at City Point V.a April 1865", along with the names of several Civil War battles.
