Description

Purple and white transfer-printed dinner plate. The border is separated into four scenes, each showing two figures flanked by a building and trees. The center shows two figures and an animal in a pasture. A house is nearby, and a castle is in the distance. The reverse is marked, "T.J. & J. Mayer, World Scenery, Prize Medal, 1851".
