Description

Green-colored glass bottle. The bottle is a dumbbell shape with a star with the word "NuGrape" superimposed in a cursive font. The words "NOT GRAPE JUICE" and "MIN. CONTENTS 6-FL. OZ." are stamped below the star. On the other side of the bottle, the star and "NuGrape" decoration is above the words "IMITATION GRAPE / TRADE MARK REGISTERED / BOTTLE PAT'D MARCH 9, 1950." The base has "MIDDLEBURY / VT." stamped on the glass and a rectangular paper attached with the handwritten words "6/21/71 / stocker / 1 --."

Context

There was a glass factory in the 1800s on Lake Dunmore in Salisbury with a side operation in East Middlebury. No further information has been found about 20th century dates of operation.
