Description

Sign previously used to mark the Vermont Historical Society location in Montpelier, Vermont. The sign has a dark green background and silver painted turned-style molded side columns. The sign reads, "MUSEUM / and Library of the / VERMONT / Historical Society / Historical dioramas / and other exhibits / from the Vermont past, / including the famous / Stephen Day express. / STATE ADMINIS- / TRATION BUILDING / OPEN TO PUBLIC / 8:00 A.M.-4:30 P.M. EXC. SAT. & SUN. / VERMONT HISTORIC SITES COMMISSION" in raised gold lettering. The top central finial of the sign has long been broken off and there is a multifaceted bell-shaped base to attach to a post. The sign reads the same on both sides.
