A bust of a bearded man wearing a suit is held within an oval on the left side above the number, "38492". The center of the bill says, "The MONTPELIER NATIONAL BANK WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND FIVE DOLLARS "Montpelier, VERMONT Feb 12, 1905. It is signed at the bottom in two places. The back of the bill has the Arabic numeral 5 in all four corners and is printed in the center with a scene of several people in a small boat during a storm.Context
