Description

Medal consisting of an upper bar, a ribbon, and a medallion. The bar is molded with the words, "PRO PATRIA". The grosgrain ribbon is striped red, white, and blue. The round medallion is molded on one side with an eagle over a smaller medallion showing the Vermont State House and the words, "CITY OF MONTPELIER, VT." It is molded on the other side with the inscription, "UNITED STATES MILITARY FORCES 1917-1919 / MONTPELIER TO HER GALLANT SONS IN GRATEFUL RECOGNITION OF A DUTY WELL PERFORMED INT HE WORLD WAR".
