Description

Regimental flag of the 2nd Vermont Infantry Regiment. Blue silk with twisted, hand-attached gold cotton fringe and blue and white cords with tassels. Obverse has painted banner reading "2nd Regiment Vermont Volunteers" over variant of state coat of arms (half is stars & stripes). Painted banner below seal reads "Freedom and Unity." Originally tied to staff, flag was tacked to staff at the time of its removal from exhibit.
