Description

Thick-soled leather ski boots with rubber soles. The boots secure by lacing around raised metal grommets at the center front over a connected tongue. The sole of each boot is marked in ink with "1947 / 1987 / Perkins".

Context

Worn by Henry Johnson Perkins of Fayston, Vermont. Perkins initially used the boots while training for the Army's Tenth Mountain Division after World War II, and he continued to use them in Vermont in retirement.
