Bark Cone

Name/Title

Bark Cone

Entry/Object ID

L2024.3.57

Description

Cone fashioned of birchbark

Use

Holding or molding maple sugar

Context

These quickly twisted bark cones, usually found in Canada, were meant to hold maple sugar. This one has a good Southern Quebec, Eastern Townships provenance. It does not seem old at all, so it may be a revival piece from the 1970’s or later.
