Description

Round metal pin designating the wearer and essential transportation worker. The top half of the ground is red while the bottom is blue. The white inscription, "ESSENTIAL TRANSPORTATION/WORKER/KEEP 'EM/ROLLING", encircles the edge of the pin. The sections of the inscription are separated by small silhouettes of a truck, a bus, and a car. At the center is a white shield surmounted by an eagle head and the black inscription, "OFFICIALLY APPROVED/ODT/OFFICE OF DEFENCE TRANSPORTATION".

Context

The ODT was a temporary government agency during and immediately following WWII with the goal of coordinating all domestic transport.
