Perpetual calendar consisting of a metal backboard and paper counters. The top half of the board has a metal box that flips open to hold paper counters as they are passed. The box is printed with the inscription, "VERMONT MUTUAL FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY / ORGANIZED A.D. 1828 / MONTPELIER VERMONT". Beneath the box are two metal loops from which hang rectangular sheets of paper printed in black with a number from 1 to 31. At the center bottom is a rectangular opening that shows a portion of a rotating disk mounted to the back of the backboard. The dis is printed with abbreviations for the twelve months in a year. The back of the calendar is printed with illustrated instructions for use.
