Rectangular trinket box with removable lid. Both the lid and the box are decoratively molded with swirls. The lid is printed with the image of a building with a prominent tower and the label, "BLACK RIVER ACADEMY, LUDLOW, VT." The bottom of the box is printed with the label, "MADE IN GERMANY FOR JOHN BARRETT LUDLOW VT."
