Silver-toned metal coin. One side is molded with a bust portrait of a man and the words, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / IRA ALLEN / FOUNDER OF VERMONT." The other side is molded with an image of a catamount (or mountain lion) and the words, "BATTLE OF BENNINGTON / IN GOD WE TRUST / 1777-1927 / AUG. 16 / E PLURIBUS UNUM / HALF DOLLAR."
