Gold token with a bust of a man on one side, and an inscription on the other. The front has a bust of Thomas Chittenden. The words, "THOMAS CHITTENDEN FIRST GOVERNOR OF VERMONT" ring the edge. The back has inscription, "SESQUICENTENNIAL OF THE STATEHOOD OF VERMONT 1791 1941" with the state seal of Vermont at the center bottom.
