Description

Purple Heart medal. The medal consists of a purple ribbon with white edges from which hangs a gold heart with purple enamel. The heart has a left-facing profile bust of George Washington beneath the Washington coat of arms. The pin is accompanied by two bars, one enameled and the other ribbon covered. All three are held within a leather-covered presentation box.

Presented to Louis Provost Peck of Montpelier, Vermont, who was wounded in Germany during World War II.
