Uniform consisting a tunic (jacket) and pants, both made of olive-green wool. The tunic secures at the center front with four brass buttons. There are four pockets, each securing with buttons and flaps. There is a diamond-shaped patch above the right breast pocket with an image of an eagle within a circle embroidered in yellow (honorable discharge). Both sleeves have rank patches of three chevrons above a curved line (staff sergeant). The right shoulder has a blue, hexagonal patch with a red-and-white star with gold wings and a gold sailing ship (6th Air Force). At the bottom of the right sleeve is a triangular blue patch with a gold gear (Engineering Specialist). The left shoulder has a round blue patch with a red-and-white star with gold wings (Army Air Corps). At the bottom of the sleeve is a short, straight bar (6 months overseas) and a longer, diagonal bar (1 enlistment).
The pants have pockets set into the side seams, two back pockets, and one watch pocket. There is a center front fly that secures with 5 buttons. There are six belt loops around the waistline.Context
