Description

Multicolored knit wool vest from wool raised on the Reid family farm in Randolph, Vermont. The vest has a black ground with angled chevron stripes in purple, tan, maroon, seafoam green, and blue. The collar is a round neckline with a vertical opening that closes with braided woolen yarn laces. The pattern is that from a Portuguese fisherman's sweater without the arms.

Context

The vest was made for Marjorie Strong by her cousin, Susan Reid, using wool from their farm in Randolph, Vermont.
