Description

Ornate, double-handled silver-plated sugar bowl in the shape of a loving cup. The handles are molded into baroque floral scrolls, and there is beadwork around the upper rim, shoulder, and the rim of the pedestal base. The body is engraved with the inscription, "Presented to SURG. C.B. PARK JR. by the Enlisted Men of the 16th Vt. Vols."

Context

Presented to Castanus Blake Park by the members of the 16th Vermont Volunteers to commemorate his work as surgeon for the regiment during the Civil War.
