Description

Silver-plated strainer consisting of a round cover, a pierced insert, and a bowl on a pedestal. The insert is pierced with the shape of an eight-pointed star. The edge of the bowl is decorated with a lacy pierced design, and the pedestal is fluted.

Context

Presented to Castanus Blake Park by the members of the 16th Vermont Volunteers to commemorate his work as surgeon for the regiment during the Civil War.
