An olive green US Army "Eisenhower jacket" which is a jacket fitted at the waist. It has bars on the sleeve which means the wearer served overseas and badges on each sleeve. The red and black on is the symbol of the 43rd infantry division. The A is the 6th Army patch. The jacket has two large breast pockets and buttoned sleeves.Context
This jacket was worn by Lawrence Rossi (1918-2025) of Barre during military service. He spent three years in the Pacific Theater during WWII, serving as a 1st Lieutenant with the Army's 172nd Infantry. After he was discharged in 1946 he continued to serve in the Vermont National Guard and was reactivated to serve in the Korean War. He retired as a Major from the Vermont National Guard in 1963.Acquisition
