Description

Rifled musket with a long barrel. The musket fires with a percussion cap above the trigger on the right side of the gun, and the gun is muzzle-loaded with a tamp stored in the wooden mount beneath the barrel. The lock plate is stamped, "U.S. L.G-&Y Windsor - VT", in front of the hammer and "1864" behind the hammer. The gun is a pattern 1861 Springfield Rifled Musket.
