Description

Hookah. The body is made from clear glass decorated with red stain in a floral and geometric design. It sits on a glass stem with a square base. It has a brass mount at the top opening, in which is a brass spout attachment with a long, attached tube. There is a bronze mouthpiece on the end of the tube.

Context

Owned by George Knapp of Lyndon, Vermont. Knapp left Vermont in the 1850s as a missionary to Bitlis, Turkey, where he acquired this hookah.
