Description

Hand-blown and hand-stamped colorless glass suncatcher from AO Glass. The circular suncatcher has a hole near the top with a pale tan ribbon through it for hanging. The central design shows the moon nearly covering the sun, with a diamond-like sparkle to indicate the moment just before totality during the eclipse. The hand-blown glass round was stamped with a graphite stamp designed by Justin Harris.

Context

Harris writes, "Since 2012, AO Glass has been crafting stamped sun catchers and ornaments with a mastery that reflects their expertise in interpreting graphic symbols through the medium of glass. With a keen eye for capturing the interplay of light within the confines of a flat circle, they have honed their craft to perfection. Spearheaded by Justin M Harris, this particular piece represents a meticulous transformation journey from image to graphite and finally to glass. Harris's vision was to encapsulate the essence of that awe-inspiring 'diamond ring' moment just before the full totality, translating it into a tangible work of art."
