Metal deputy sheriff badge. The gilt brass sheriff badge is a shield with an eagle insignia; the talons and wings are attached to the tri- pointe edges. The background is hammered metal with smooth ribbon decorations. The words "CHARLES H. LITTLE / DEPUTY SHERIFF / WASHINGTON CO. / VERMONT" are engraved into the ribbon decorations.

Little was born in 1877 and lived in North Montpelier, worked at his family's woolen mill and died in 1945.
